Up Close and Personal for Little vendors

Hmm.. Please take a good look to see how people are surviving despite working from day until night. These little stall vendors hold on to life by selling little things that has ever crossed their minds in their community. It is what they are able to do best. Making only a small profit, yet they are still passionate to make ends meet everyday forgetting just how much hard work is required.

Now does that remind us, that we should treasure life and be thankful for everything that we have been given?

Chinese Food --- Kailan Fry Kailan & Lotus Chicken Tonic Soup

"Kailan" is one of the most popular chinese vegetable dishes around. "Kailan fry Kailan" is normally done only by frying Kailan alone. However, the dish that is shown here is a littlle bit different because it has prepared the Kailan in two manners. First is to chop the Kailan and fry it until golden while the second step is to semi braise the Kailan stalks with the first fried kailan batch producing this dish.. To spice things up, it has added dried "ikan bilis" making this a special serve.

Throughout generations, chinese people had a belief that no matter how busy family members might be, it is worth the effort to go home and drink good soup to replenish both the body and soul. These are the so called "tonic" soup and they are believed to be able to preserve longetivity and eliminate stresses in life. It is in the roots of chinese people to cook soup either by boiling or double broiling.

Chinese Food -- Traditional Pork Pau and Dim Sum

Chinese folks would have tasted the traditional Pau which we call - Char Siew Pau. It is a savory small bun stuffed with BBQ char siew pork or chicken meat. Very very delicious and will make you crave for more !

Other than this, there are other types of chinese dim sum such as the "Siu Mai" which looks like several small size cylindrical meat balls, "Har Gau" which is usually made from shrimp meat/ prawn wrapped up nicely in crystal dough steamed with "jiu chai" a type of fragrant vegetable..

This one is yet another innovation added into the chinese dim sum menu -- fish maw with chicken steamed. It has that refreshing taste to make you remember. :) :)
