Potato Potato Chips! Munch Munch....
Munch munch munch.... You know, it is quite difficult to stop munching, until the whole pack gets to that last piece or else it is pretty difficult to keep the hands off those chips. Imagine, one day you took the already opened package to find only one last piece left.. arrrgh... happens a lot.. :) Potato chips are truly a world wonderful snack. Despite a lot of health conscious people used to claim too much of these are going to make you fat very soon, which is true.. But, still it never beats to have an occasional happy snack from time to time.. plenty of low sodium, low fat, baked not fried options out there, which are good additions for any home store. Well, who wouldn't love them? After all, potatoes are second staple right next to rice at its top most.
To add a little bit of history in appreciation to these chips, they were first invented by George Crum whom served at Moon Lake Lodge's restaurant at an elegant resort in Saratoga Springs, New York in 1853. One night a dinner guest arrived and had ordered French fries which he then rejected because it was too thick to his liking. Crum had then decided to rile the guest by producing French fries too thin and crisp to skewer with a fork. It was an instant ecstatic delight received by the guest! and the plan had ever since opened up yet an genius creation for potatoes, known as chips instead of fries. The potato chips began to appear on the menu as Saratoga Chips, a house specialty from where it spread all over the world until today. Care for some chips later?
Korean Instant Noodles, Ramyun! Have you Tried them Yet?
Hot and exciting and super tasty! These are the qualities of hot Korean instant noodles sold in packs where you can buy easily from hypermarts. Sometimes, these noodles really does make me wonder, how could they be ever made so tasty and yet sold at a flat rate cost low enough almost anyone could buy? In fact the deal is a bit too good, the noodles inside is going to weigh at least 90gms per pack contributing on average a 400 kcals as fuel for consumption.

I would imagine that on average anyone could just sit back at home and enjoy a great hearty bowlfuls of these and watch that favorite DVD. Wouldn't that be just so fun and heart warming? My friend is going to shout and say, not just Korean noodles but Japanese, Taiwanese, Chinese, Malaysian, Singaporean, Indonesians, etc. etc..! Ok ok.. I get it.. they all have different tastes and some are wet noodles, others are dry ones simulating hawker stall fried noodles, (well sometimes they are more delicious than those you get from restaurants), and they are relatively low in cost.. Maybe they are less nutritious and have higher levels of MSG, but nonetheless, I did saw some that says "No MSG"??!!?.. ...

Penang Laksa! - A Malaysian Favorite!
Laksa is a hot noodle soup based on a lot of different herbs and spices add up to create a thick broth that complements the noodles and the meat. To make Laksa is no simple task because of its many mindful steps required to prepare in advance the stock from Ikan Kembang(Mackerels) to how the chili paste have to be blended to form the belacan or (dried shrimp paste) with shallots, garlic and a large variety of chillis. Laksa acquired its sour taste from tamarind and in order to make the Laksa taste like heaven, chopped vegetables are added to the dish to create an instant unique taste of harmony from its fresh and crunchy vegetable toppings.
The word Laksa originated from Sanskrit and it meant 'in abundance', as the dish is prepared from a lot of different ingredients. In Malaysia, you can find Curry Laksa and Assam Laksa where Curry Laksa has a thicker broth as compared to Assam Laksa. Typical call for ingredients include ikan Kembong (Mackerel Fish), cucumbers, lettuce leaves, red onions, mint leaves and different types of chillies.
