Making Jelly At Home!

We call them 'Agar agar' in most south east Asian countries. Made from seaweed into a gelatinous substance and they can be used as a laxative or thickener for soups, ice creams and deserts of all kinds.  At home, we make them into colorful snacks and in fact you just need to boil some water and put the agar agar strips in for a few minutes until they melt completely.

Feel free to add whatever flavors or colorings to create your own unique taste and fun-food look. This one is made with some barley sweetened with honey rock sugar. The idea is to create a light-hearted snack for afternoon teas or anytime in a day for something nice and refreshing.
