What to do when you are Sad?

You should watch a movie at the comfort of your home.. you should eat and drink whatever you like and you can think of revamping your closet.. Think of selling or donating all those old clothes that you ain't wearing no more.. Learn to grab a book and read some words of enlightenment.. Go to eBay and do your favorite shopping.. After all, what is the meaning of life if you dont even know how to make yourself happy?? You should make yourself happy, if life does not happen the way it should, well at least for today, you can give it all up and live just the way you want..
Clean your house, change that curtain blind, wear that new shoes, go out and buy that pair of ear ring you dreamt of and learn to brace yourself despite feeling very sad over some irreversible misfortune.

Some people choose to listen to nature, you can too.. Just drive over the beach, the lake, the river or that old willow tree site.. and sit there.. Meditate.. remember the good old days and call your best friends to get some words of comfort.. Learn that your life is still worth living and do not give up hope..

What to Eat and Drink when you are Sad..

If you are experiencing some very unhappy moments in life.. learn to live on several items such as beer, or any type of booze that is available to you or you can endure. At least they make you more relaxed to face that temporary moment of sadness. Next is you can grab your favorite food such as instant noodles or a piece of cake (your favorite cake).. Eat them to remember how to love yourself while you can.. And listen to some nice music.. Life is full of ups and downs.. Just remember that if something bad happens to you today, you live on it for today and by tomorrow things would have changed for the better.

Or if certain things would never change or has become irreversible, perhaps the one that would change to become stronger, is YOU.. or perhaps better things await.. All you need to do is to eat and drink and do whatever you like when you are sad and think over those matters of concern, seek reason and solace.. and soon, you will find that it is not too bad after all.. perhaps there are many others suffering more than you on what could be worse..

Give yourself a good break.. and just dont continue to think about the bad things that happened.. think of what you can do to love yourself all the better.. start tomorrow.. its ok to mourn today..

Cutey Goats at Work, Cutey Horseys at Work too!

In China, I get the chance to witness these little cutey goats put up their graceful stance ready to work gathering at the main entrance at one of the ancient Chinese palaces in Jiang Nan.

They served with a smile and parents usually pay a small fee to allow their child to enjoy a smooth single ride encircling the Chinese palace enjoying that scene and the fresh dew early in the morning. Children laugh all the way during the ride on their flowery little carts. The owners say they can pull a cart up to about 40 + kg.

Then there are the handsome horseys ready to take you in for some adrenaline (only for horse riders) otherwise the trainers would accompany you for a slow journey. The pay is the same as riding goaties and its a very different experience altogether. Anyhow, there seemed a lot of demand to grab on that 'Snow Whitey'.

Sweet Cakes and Savory Vegetable Cutlets

My mom used to say that after eating sweet stuff, she would crave for something salty or savory and that is strange. After all, mouth watering sweet stuff does look tempting enough you want to gulp it pretty much like how Garfield does it ..'Waaagh,,' there no more.. Or maybe we can act a little fair lady and eat slowly cutting each corner by the spoon slowly and savoring each mouthful .. 'wam wam wam...'

Somedays ago, my colleague came to visit us and she made something called the 'vegetable cutlet'.. and that is because she was so modest and afraid of naming her own creation.. It tasted really nice and we all loved it very much. Thank You! Anyway, I surely can finish those vegetable cutlets easier than all those Mother's day cakes!!

Glutinuous Rice Dumplings! or Zong Zi!!

It is part of a chinese tradition to eat glutinuous rice dumplings. They can be extremely tasty with their fillings made out of red beans (sweet ones) or peanuts and soya beans (salty ones). The salty ones are my favorites as they usually stuff mushrooms, chestnut, salted eggs and meat inside. Exceptionally, there is one type that has nothing inside and they are meant for the sugar coating of your choice.
Glutinuous rice dumplings are never easy to make but some great mamas at home do know how to make them well, and usually it takes many hours just to prepare the rice, the fillings and the wrappings using banana leaf as shown. Once you buy them, you can eat them straight or place them in the fridge. They will keep up to 3 days in the fridge and if you just have to reheat them in the microwave before eating them. The best hawker stalls that boast these would be able to sell them at a good price each and still leave people queueing for all the more!
