WaterMelon Craze..

Watermelons can be enjoyed all year round and bought from open markets or hypermarts at a very affordable price. These days yellow-flesh watermelons are also becoming more popular.

The fruit itself is very juicy and plump, so you don't have to eat a lot to satisfy hunger or thirst. Eating watermelons can be a good way to stay slim even, because when you are hungry enough, just get yourself a piece of that sweet sensational red cool from the fridge.

Many do not seem to know that watermelons are packed with a good dose of antioxidants as well and in particular 'Lycopene' which helps in combating a number of cancers including prostate cancer, breast cancer, endometrial cancer, lung cancer and colorectal cancers. Lycopene are also associated with an an important role to protect against DNA (our genetic material) mutations inside the white blood cells.
According to studies, regular consumptions of lycopene-rich fruits, such as watermelon plus green tea may greatly reduce a man's risk of developing prostate cancer, suggests research published by the Asia Pacific Journal of Clinical Nutrition (Jian L, Lee AH, et al.). Watermelons also bears Arginine, an active compound which helps to prevent eErectile dysfunction, lowers blood pressure and improves insulin sensitivity.
