Chinese Traditional Candy - Mai Ya Tang & Long Shu Tang!! Yum Yum

I found a little stall outside the Emperor Qian Long's palace. At that time, I was hungry and craved for something sweet to eat. Hence, I went to see this little stall and these are what I saw.. We bought a few packages and had enjoyed them very much. These are all traditional candies or sweets hand made on the spot. Their names being "Mai Ya Tang" being the rod looking ones, "Long Shu Tang" or (dragon whiskers candy) being the ones looking like white cocoons.. and their favorite "Hua Sen Tang" (peanut candy)..

What I saw on the making was through a lot of hard work hammering on the candy paste which then was rolled into the shape of the candy itself. There should be a number of the same vendors selling these same candies all over the place. The key is to find the best one and usually they would get exported overseas where they would sell at a much higher price. So, if you would ever come across one of these stalls, remember to taste some..
