Strawberry Valentines!


Strawberries as you know it are shaped like a heart making them one of the prettiest fruits with their bright ruby red colors. They are one of the most popular berry fruits in the world. As pretty as they are, Strawberries can raise the aesthetics of any meal instantly tempting the people at the dinner table. There are over 600 varieties of strawberries that differ in flavor, size and texture plus there are also some that grows wild.

These pretty fruits have high values of anti-oxidants and phytonutrients such as phenols, anthocyanins (this is what makes the fruit red),  ellagitanninsellagitannin, and others many other protective compounds that makes them  a heart-protective fruit, an anti-cancer fruit, and an anti-inflammatory fruit, all rolled into one. In particular, Strawberries are able to prevent liver damages, macular degeneration and promotes healthy hearts. It also protects against hardening of the blood vessels and is able to boost our body immune system which then makes the fruit a natural aphrodisiac as well. 


Other studies have shown that rich in vitamin C foods such as strawberries protects against inflammatory polyarthritis, a form of rheumatoid arthritis involving two or more joints. In terms of general nutritional values, strawberries emerged as an excellent source of vitamin C and manganese. They are also a very good source of dietary fiber, iodine, potassium, folate, riboflavin, vitamin B5, omega-3 fatty acids,vitamin B6, vitamin K, magnesium, and copper.
