Up Close and Personal for Little vendors

Hmm.. Please take a good look to see how people are surviving despite working from day until night. These little stall vendors hold on to life by selling little things that has ever crossed their minds in their community. It is what they are able to do best. Making only a small profit, yet they are still passionate to make ends meet everyday forgetting just how much hard work is required.

Now does that remind us, that we should treasure life and be thankful for everything that we have been given?

Chinese Food --- Kailan Fry Kailan & Lotus Chicken Tonic Soup

"Kailan" is one of the most popular chinese vegetable dishes around. "Kailan fry Kailan" is normally done only by frying Kailan alone. However, the dish that is shown here is a littlle bit different because it has prepared the Kailan in two manners. First is to chop the Kailan and fry it until golden while the second step is to semi braise the Kailan stalks with the first fried kailan batch producing this dish.. To spice things up, it has added dried "ikan bilis" making this a special serve.

Throughout generations, chinese people had a belief that no matter how busy family members might be, it is worth the effort to go home and drink good soup to replenish both the body and soul. These are the so called "tonic" soup and they are believed to be able to preserve longetivity and eliminate stresses in life. It is in the roots of chinese people to cook soup either by boiling or double broiling.

Now, this soup here is the famous lotus roots chicken soup.It is known to be good for the spleen and lungs.. Read more : Chinese Lotus Soup Information

Chinese Food -- Traditional Pork Pau and Dim Sum

Chinese folks would have tasted the traditional Pau which we call - Char Siew Pau. It is a savory small bun stuffed with BBQ char siew pork or chicken meat. Very very delicious and will make you crave for more !

Other than this, there are other types of chinese dim sum such as the "Siu Mai" which looks like several small size cylindrical meat balls, "Har Gau" which is usually made from shrimp meat/ prawn wrapped up nicely in crystal dough steamed with "jiu chai" a type of fragrant vegetable..

This one is yet another innovation added into the chinese dim sum menu -- fish maw with chicken steamed. It has that refreshing taste to make you remember. :) :)

Hate Anger before Anger Hates

Today with so much stress at work and in your personal life, it is difficult to escape anger from time to time. Be it the result of long term frustration or immediate shock due to certain negative events or experiences, there are certainly ways to counter anger. We do not want anger to manifest within ourselves because it will slowly grow into a monster that eats away positive energy causing us to feel out of place gradually which will then open up gates to a lot of other negativities the first one being 'Hate'

Back to sharing Durian --> Monthong

Apart from knowing the world itself is aging, we should not hesitate to enjoy the goodies that nature has warranted.. In Thailand, this durian is known as Monthong and in this region where imported Durians are concerned, it is ranked as the best.

Try this durian for its silky flesh bearing its authentic and unique taste, perceived as the King of Fruits.
Tips to avoid "after-eat-durian-syndrome": Take the empty crust of a Durian, fill it up with water and sprinkle a dash of salt, drink immediately to remove heatiness.

Antartica Icebergs drifting to New Zealand !

"SYDNEY (AFP) – More than 100, and possibly hundreds, of Antarctica icebergs are floating towards New Zealand in a rare event which has prompted a shipping warning, officials said on Monday."

Climatic change and global warming are indications that the world is aging the same way as we do. According to the publications, Icebergs from Antartica are slowly breaking up into smaller pieces and this time they headed towards New Zealand, causing coastal navigation warnings for the area in the Southern Ocean.

“As human-caused biodiversity loss and climate disruption gain ground, we need to keep our sights clear and understand that the measure of a threat is not a matter of whether it is made on purpose, but of how much loss it may cause. It's an ancient habit to go after those we perceive to be evil because they intended to do harm. It's harder, but more effective, to "go after," meaning to more effectively educate and socialize, those vastly larger numbers of our fellow humans who are not evil, but whose behavior may in fact be far more destructive in the long run." (Ed Ayres, editor of Worldwatch magazine, Nov/Dec 2001)

Biodiversity loss --> Happens when we extract resources from mother earth in all forms possible (e.g. housing developments & mining on a larger scale, dumping waste in return without considering her feelings -- earth)

"Go after," --> Today our minds are trained to go after or to look for, without much constant reflex upon conscience or intuition.

"Humans who are not evil" --> Vanity blinds us to lead us into thinking that we have been good. We have not been, or have we been?
