Benefits of Eating Brown Rice

Brown Rice is 'unpolished rice' because its brownish bran layer is left intact after its husk is removed. Hence it did not go through the complete rice polishing cycle as did white rice. It has better nutritional value compared to white rice from its brown bran layer.

To cook brown rice, you have to soak it for at least half an hour before cooking it the usual way which makes its preparation slightly more difficult and time consuming. However, it is worth it all health factors.

Brown rice is packed with fiber that promotes healthy digestive systems and it has the capability to stabilize blood sugar levels. It also helps fight heart diseases and constipation with its rich counts in a number of vitamins and minerals. High levels of selenium aids in anti-oxidation processes while Iron aids in generation of blood cells.
